91 navy officers graduate

JAKARTA (JP): A total of 91 navy officers, 11 of whom are
high-ranking officers, graduated from Open University here on
Wednesday.

The graduation ceremony, held at the auditorium of the Jos
Sudarso Navy Staff Command school (Seskoal) in Cipulir, South
Jakarta, was presided over by the rector of the university and
Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Tanto Kuswanto.

Open University (Universitas Terbuka) offers degree programs
in various disciplines through extension and correspondence
courses and lectures on radio and television.

Tanto expressed hope that the new graduates would duly use
their degrees for the sake of the public in general and the armed
forces in particular, Antara reported.(bas)
