9 Million Taxpayers Have Submitted Annual Returns; Those Who Haven't Face Fines!
Jakarta, VIVA – The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has recorded that the number of annual income tax (PPh) notification letters (SPT) received has reached 9,072,935 SPT as of 25 March 2026.
“The progress of annual PPh SPT reporting for the period up to 25 March 2026 is recorded at 9,072,935 SPT,” said the Director of Public Relations, Services, and Outreach of DJP, Inge Diana Rismawanti, in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday, 26 March 2026.
Broken down by taxpayer type for the January–December 2025 fiscal year, 7,993,396 reports come from individual employee taxpayers. Meanwhile, 891,594 reports are from individual non-employee taxpayers.
For corporate taxpayers, 186,216 SPTs have been reported in rupiah and 138 in US dollars.
Additionally, for SPTs with different fiscal years that began reporting from 1 August 2025, there are 1,570 reports from corporate taxpayers in rupiah and 21 in US dollars.
On the other hand, DJP also notes the increasing development of Coretax account activations. As of 25 March 2026, the number of activated accounts has reached 16,830,447 accounts.
Of that total, 15,782,719 come from individual taxpayers, 957,078 from corporate taxpayers, 90,424 from government agency taxpayers, and 226 from taxpayers in the Electronic System-Based Trading (PMSE) sector.
In addition, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the government will extend the deadline for annual SPT reporting for individual taxpayers until 30 April 2026. Previously, the reporting deadline was set for 31 March 2026.
The Ministry of Finance will soon issue an official regulation through a Circular Letter as the basis for that policy.
To report the annual SPT, taxpayers can activate their Coretax account independently by following the guidelines available through DJP’s official channels, including social media.
In addition, DJP provides the Coretax Form service for individual taxpayers with a nil annual SPT status.
DJP urges taxpayers who have not yet reported their SPT to immediately activate their Coretax account and submit the report before the specified deadline.
Taxpayers who are late in reporting the annual SPT will be subject to administrative sanctions in the form of fines. The amount of the fine is Rp100,000 for individual taxpayers and Rp1 million for corporate taxpayers. (Ant)
