88 Padang Panjang Hajj Pilgrims Commence Peak Rituals at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina
A total of 88 Hajj pilgrims from Padang Panjang City, West Sumatra, have commenced the peak rituals of Hajj at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna). The ceremonies began on Monday, 8 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH, corresponding to 25 May 2026. Padang Panjang Hajj Officer Setra Effendi confirmed all pilgrims are in good health and ready for the critical stages, from departure to Arafah through to the Tawaf Wada’ before returning home. Technical data shows the Padang Panjang pilgrims are divided into three flight groups (kloters): ‘Insha’Allah, all pilgrims will proceed to Arafah according to their respective kloter schedules to carry out the peak Hajj rituals,’ said Setra on Monday (25 May). Setra detailed today’s departure schedules: Kloter 6 departs at 07:00 Saudi Arabia Time (SAT), followed by Kloter 9 at 11:30 SAT, and Kloter 14 at 16:30 SAT. During the Armuzna phase, Kloter 6 pilgrims are accommodated at Maktab 85, while Kloter 9 are at Maktab 84. ‘Alhamdulillah, none of the Padang Panjang pilgrims are participating in Safari Wukuf. However, two pilgrims fall under the Murur category (transiting Muzdalifah without disembarking from the bus),’ he added. The peak Hajj ritual, Wukuf at Mount Arafah, will take place on Tuesday, 9 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH. The ceremony will begin with the Wukuf sermon followed by the combined Zuhr and Asr prayers (Jamak Qashar Taqdim). ‘After Wukuf until sunset, pilgrims will depart for Muzdalifah to perform Mabit (overnight stay) before proceeding to Mina,’ Setra added. After midnight in Muzdalifah, pilgrims will move to Mina to perform the stoning of Jamarat al-Aqabah, followed by Tahallul Awal. Those opting for Nafar Awal are scheduled to return to Makkah hotels on Friday, while Nafar Tsani pilgrims will depart on Saturday. The rituals will be completed with Tawaf Ifadah, Sa’i, and Tahallul Tsani. Setra expressed hope that all pilgrims are granted physical strength and ease during their worship. ‘We pray for all Padang Panjang Hajj pilgrims to have smooth, healthy, and facilitated journeys until their return home as mabrur pilgrims,’ he concluded.
