76,000 Vehicles Depart Jakarta via MBZ Toll Road
PT Jasa Marga Jalanlayang Cikampek (PT JJC) has recorded increased vehicle mobility on the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Elevated Road or MBZ Toll Road during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus period.
Based on traffic data from 10 days before to six days before Eid 2026, a total of 176,815 vehicles departed Jakarta via the MBZ Elevated Road. This figure represents a 36.09 per cent increase compared to normal traffic conditions, which typically recorded 129,923 vehicles.
Chief Executive Officer of PT Jasa Marga Jalanlayang Cikampek, Hendri Taufik, stated that this increase reflects growing movement among the public undertaking journeys out of Jakarta ahead of the Eid exodus season.
On Sunday, 15 March 2026, PT JJC recorded vehicle volume departing Jakarta via the MBZ Toll Road reaching 40,523 vehicles, an increase of 74.36 per cent compared to normal conditions which recorded 23,241 vehicles. In the opposite direction, vehicles heading towards Jakarta numbered 32,565, or a decrease of 2.19 per cent compared to normal traffic of 33,293 vehicles.
Hendri urged road users planning to travel during the exodus via the MBZ Elevated Road to plan their travel times carefully to avoid potential traffic congestion.
“PT JJC appeals to road users to plan their travel times prudently and prepare their journeys carefully to prevent traffic congestion at certain times, so that travel can proceed more smoothly and comfortably,” Hendri stated in a written statement on Monday, 16 March 2026.
PT JJC also urged MBZ Elevated Road users to always prioritise safety. Additionally, PT JJC appealed for drivers and vehicles to be in prime condition, maintaining adequate electric power and fuel reserves, and anticipating potential weather changes, particularly rain which can affect visibility and road surface conditions.
