62 Foreign Nationals Arrested During Immigration Operation in Bali
As many as 62 foreign nationals (WNA) were arrested during an immigration patrol operation in Bali. They are suspected of misusing residence permits and violating immigration regulations despite entering Indonesia through official channels.
“They entered legally, but while in Bali, they engaged in activities not in accordance with their residence permits or are suspected of breaching public order,” stated the Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Of these, 39 individuals were charged under Article 75 Paragraph (1) of the Immigration Law for allegedly endangering public security and order. Meanwhile, several other foreign nationals were caught for various violations.
In addition, immigration is following up on 26 foreign nationals suspected of involvement in online fraud in Bali. “Currently, coordination is ongoing between immigration, police, and prosecutors to determine the legal basis, whether it is ordinary fraud or a criminal act of human trafficking (TPPO),” added Felucia.
Immigration also uncovered an online prostitution practice disguised as visitor residence permits. The perpetrators have only been in Indonesia for one month and operate using foreign communication numbers.
“There is no tolerance for foreign nationals who violate immigration rules. The harshest action is deportation and blacklisting,” emphasised Felucia.
Felucia stressed that foreigners who come are expected to provide benefits and uphold local values. Conversely, those who commit violations will be dealt with according to the rules.
The current enforcement remains in the administrative realm. However, Felucia did not rule out the possibility of criminal elements emerging if further investigations uncover additional evidence. The operation is conducted in three shifts a day, from afternoon to early morning, based on public reports and mapping of vulnerable areas.
