459,570 Vehicles Leave Jakarta on Second Day of Operation Ketupat 2026
Korps Lalu Lintas (Korlantas) Polri, Indonesia’s National Police Traffic Corps, reported that 459,570 vehicles departed Jakarta on the second day of Operation Ketupat 2026 on Saturday 14 March 2026.
“Our prediction indicated increased traffic on 14 and 15 March. However, this evening we report that approximately 459,570 vehicles have left Jakarta,” stated Brigadier General Faizal, Director of Law Enforcement at Korlantas Polri, speaking at the Command Centre at KM 92 in Bekasi, West Java, early Sunday morning.
The majority of departing vehicles were heading eastward along the Trans Java toll route, with private vehicles dominating the traffic flow. Faizal noted that some trucks continued towards the Merak and Bakauheni routes.
Out of the predicted 3.67 million vehicles expected to leave Jakarta during the operation, approximately 3.2 million vehicles remain to depart on subsequent days, representing around 76.9 percent of total predicted traffic.
Korlantas Polri is preparing to manage anticipated increases in vehicle numbers during the remaining operational days. “We predict significant traffic increases on Wednesday (18 March), Thursday (19 March), and Friday (20 March). We will continue monitoring the situation and our personnel stationed throughout toll roads and arterial roads will remain vigilant,” Faizal said.
On the first day of Operation Ketupat 2026 on Friday 13 March, toll operator Jasa Marga reported that 285,000 vehicles, representing 14 percent of the total 3.5 million predicted vehicles, had departed Jakarta, primarily heading towards the Trans Java toll route.
