43,000 Households in West Sumbawa Now Hold the Sumbawa Barat Maju Card

West Sumbawa (ANTARA) - The West Sumbawa Regency Government (Pemkab), in West Nusa Tenggara, records that 43,000 heads of household (KK) now possess the Sumbawa Barat Maju card, which is expected to improve community welfare.

“Out of around 51,915 heads of household in West Sumbawa, more than 43,000 families have received benefits from the programme, either in the form of cash or non-cash assistance,” said West Sumbawa Regent Amar Nurmasnyah in West Sumbawa on Sunday.

Tens of thousands of recipients of the Sumbawa Barat Maju card programme include 12,325 KK for education advancement, 4,419 KK for health advancement, and 11,904 KK for farming and livestock advancement.

Additionally, 646 KK for housing advancement, 17,054 KK for social advancement, 925 KK for UMKM advancement, and 2,860 KK for fisheries advancement.

“I hope that all residents will hold the Sumbawa Barat Maju card by the end of April 2026 so that its benefits can be felt optimally,” he said.

He stated that Eid al-Fitr serves as a moment of reflection for the local government in fulfilling its mandate to the community. The local government is committed to working maximally to realise various development programmes for the people of West Sumbawa.

“The Sumbawa Barat Maju card programme, with integrated services, makes it easier for the community to access basic services,” he said.

The local government remains optimistic as West Sumbawa will enter a new phase as a managing region with the presence of a smelter.

“Therefore, development strategies must be prepared carefully,” he said.

To strengthen regional economic independence, the government continues to promote diversification of development sectors.

One of them is through the extraordinary Sumbawa Barat Maju card programme that develops community-based tourism, supported by plans for the operationalisation of Poto Tano Airport, which is currently in the process of coordinating permits with the Ministry of Transportation for general airport licensing.

In the productive economic sector, the local government is also developing a cattle farming agribusiness programme based on intensive farming, which will be implemented in 12 locations in 2026.
