30 armed men rob garment firm

BOGOR (JP): About 30 armed men robbed a garment company, PT Intra Garment, in Kertamaya village here early on Thursday morning and escaped with millions of rupiah worth of goods and cash.

"They knocked on the door and when we opened it, they grabbed us," Abdullah, a security guard at the company, told the South Bogor Police.

After tying up and gagging Abdullah and his colleague Bambang, the robbers then locked them in the guard post. They then proceeded to strip the factory and its office, loading 73 garment machines, a computer, a radio and a cashbox containing Rp 300,000 onto the back of a truck which was parked outside the factory.

At about the same time on Thursday, a thief entered the rectorate building of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture's Dermaga Campus and took away five computers and six printers.

The institute, as a result, has lost data on more than 5,000 new students. (21)
