3,892 Klungkung Regency Employees to Work from Home This Friday, Official Travel Also Restricted
Klungkung Regency Government (Pemkab Klungkung) has begun implementing a work-from-home (WFH) policy on Friday, 10 April 2026. A total of 3,892 out of 6,930 civil servants (ASN) within Pemkab Klungkung are permitted not to come to the office and to work from home. “This number excludes some employees in service units such as BPBD, Fire Department, Dukcapil, and other service units that directly meet public needs,” said Acting Head of BKPSDM Klungkung AA Istri Alit Pramawati on Thursday (9/4/2024). Pramawati explained that the WFH policy does not apply to employees in the education and health sectors. Similarly, for echelon II officials. In addition to implementing WFH, Pemkab Klungkung will also impose restrictions on domestic official travel. Furthermore, restrictions on the use of official vehicles by 50 percent. Pramawati reminded ASNs carrying out official duties via WFH to maximise the use of electronic-based government systems (SPBE). The conduct of meetings, technical guidance, seminars, training, or other gatherings will also be increasingly conducted online or in hybrid mode. “ASNs are also required to be responsive to communications via WhatsApp, telephone, or virtual office applications,” Pramawati explained. Bangli Regency Tightens Supervision of ASNs During WFH Meanwhile, Pemkab Bangli is also beginning to implement the WFH policy from Friday (10/4). Those affected by WFH are ASNs from echelon 4 downwards. “Specifically for employees from echelon 4 downwards. Echelon 2 officials and administrators will still report to the office as usual,” said Bangli Regent Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta when met at the Bangli DPRD office on Thursday (9/4/2026). Sedana Arta said employees who ignore duty calls during WFH will face sanctions. He emphasised that Pemkab Bangli employees remain responsible for their duties in serving Bangli residents even when working from home. Head of BKDPSDM Bangli I Made Mahendra Putra explained that not all employees will work via WFH. For example, employees from BPBD and Fire Department, Health Service, Population and Civil Registration Service, Education Service, Licensing Service, and Satpol PP. “It is regulated by the respective OPD (regional device organisation) leaders,” said Mahendra. Mahendra said all services are required to submit performance reports for employees during WFH. According to him, employees who neglect their duties during WFH will receive sanctions ranging from reprimands to dismissal. “All OPDs will later submit reports. The reports are submitted monthly to the central government through the Bali Provincial Government. The sanctions range from reprimands to dismissal,” he concluded.
