The Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, stated that the company has prepared the necessary infrastructure and facilities to support the implementation of Biodiesel 50 (B50), ensuring smooth production and distribution.

As the launch of B50 by President Prabowo Subianto approaches, preparations are proceeding smoothly. It has been confirmed that 29 out of 126 Pertamina fuel terminals are ready to distribute B50 in the form of Biosolar.

“Pertamina Patra Niaga has prepared the required facilities and infrastructure so that the production, distribution, and supply processes can run effectively,” said Kitty in Jakarta on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.

“This number will gradually increase during the transition period,” she added.

Based on the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 257.K/EK.01/MEM.E/2026 regarding the Obligation to Blend Biofuel (Biodiesel) with Solar Fuel at a rate of 50 per cent, there is a transition period for fuel enterprises that still hold stocks of biodiesel for blending at the 40 per cent (B40) rate.

Enterprises with remaining B40 stocks are permitted to distribute the fuel until 30 September 2026, provided it meets the established standards and specifications.

“Pertamina Patra Niaga has prepared the B50 distribution infrastructure, ranging from fuel terminals to distribution points such as petrol stations (SPBU) and motorcycle fuel stations (APMS),” she said.

The government continues to encourage energy diversification through the use of biofuels. Since 1 July 2026, the government has officially implemented the B50 biodiesel policy, which consists of a 50 per cent blend of solar oil with palm oil.
