23 Passengers Injured in Head-On Collision Between TransJakarta Buses on Elevated Corridor
A head-on collision between two TransJakarta buses on the elevated Corridor 13 route in Cipulir, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, left dozens of passengers injured, two of whom sustained bone fractures.
“There are currently 23 recorded victims, all with minor injuries,” Jakarta Metropolitan Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto told reporters on Monday (23/2/2026).
The injured were passengers on a TransJakarta bus travelling from Cipulir to Kebayoran Lama. The victims have been taken to hospital for treatment.
“Traffic officers are currently evacuating victims to the nearest hospital for treatment and conducting a crime scene investigation as well as managing traffic,” he said.
Separately, Deputy Director of Law Enforcement at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Ojo Ruslani, said the TransJakarta bus driven by a man identified as A was packed with passengers as it coincided with the morning commute.
“The 23 injured were passengers travelling from Cipulir to Kebayoran — the bus was full because people were heading to work,” Ojo said.
Of the 23 injured passengers, two sustained bone fractures.
“Two people with fractures were taken to Sari Asih Hospital in Ciledug,” Ojo said.
The accident occurred at approximately 07:15 local time. It involved a TransJakarta Bianglala bus driven by a man identified as Y, heading from Kebayoran towards Cipulir, and a TransJakarta Mayasari Bakti bus driven by A, heading from Cipulir to Kebayoran.
“At exactly 07:15 local time, Y admitted he had fallen asleep — he was drowsy — and the bus he was driving veered into A’s lane. It was possibly due to fatigue,” Ojo explained.
TransJakarta Response

“TransJakarta sincerely apologises for the accident involving operator fleet buses BMP 263 and MYS 17100 on Corridor 13 (the Swadarma section towards Cipulir) this morning (23/2),” said TransJakarta Head of Public Relations and CSR Ayu Wardhani on Monday (23/2).
TransJakarta evacuated passengers to the nearest stop. The exact number of passengers on the buses and full details of injuries were not yet available, but TransJakarta confirmed that injured passengers had received medical attention.
“Our primary focus right now is ensuring customer safety. Officers carried out a rapid evacuation to the nearest stop, and customers with minor injuries have received treatment,” she said.
