23 Airlines Suspend Flights to the Middle East, Here is the List
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The war in the Middle East is causing major disruptions to the global aviation industry. As many as 23 airlines are halting or limiting operations to various cities in the region amid airspace closures and rising security risks.
Citing a Reuters report, several airlines are also beginning to operate limited services amid the uncertainty of the situation. Here is the list of airlines and their latest policies:
- Aegean Airlines
Cancelling flights to Tel Aviv, Beirut, Amman until 22 April; Erbil and Baghdad until 24 May; Dubai until 19 April; Riyadh until 18 April.
- airBaltic
All flights to Tel Aviv cancelled until 5 April; Dubai until 24 October.
- Air Canada
Flights to Tel Aviv cancelled until 2 May; Dubai until 28 March.
- Air Europa
All flights to Tel Aviv cancelled until 10 April.
- Air France-KLM
Air France is cancelling routes to Tel Aviv and Beirut until 21 March; Dubai and Riyadh until 20 March. KLM is suspending flights to Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai until 28 March and Tel Aviv for the winter season.
- Cathay Pacific
All passenger and cargo flights to/from Dubai and Riyadh cancelled until 30 April.
- Delta Air Lines
New York-Tel Aviv route cancelled until 31 March and delayed until August for certain routes.
- El Al Israel Airlines
Regular flights cancelled until 21 March.
- Emirates
Operating services with a reduced schedule following the partial reopening of airspace.
- Etihad Airways
Operating a limited commercial schedule from Abu Dhabi to certain destinations.
- Finnair
Flights to Dubai cancelled until 29 March and Doha until 2 April, while avoiding conflict airspace.
- Flynas
Suspending flights to several cities in the Middle East until 31 March.
- IAG (British Airways)
Cancellations to Amman, Bahrain, Dubai, Tel Aviv until 31 May; Doha until 30 April; Abu Dhabi until the end of the year.
- IndiGo
Suspending operations to Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain, Dammam, and other cities until 28 March.
- Japan Airlines
Suspending Tokyo-Doha route until 31 March.
- LOT Polish Airlines
Cancelling flights to Dubai, Tel Aviv, Riyadh, and Beirut during March-April.
- Lufthansa Group
Suspending routes to Tel Aviv until 2 April; other cities until the end of March; Tehran until 30 April.
- Malaysia Airlines
Suspending all flights to Doha until 20 March.
- Norwegian Air
Delaying the opening of Tel Aviv and Beirut routes until mid-June.
- Pegasus Airlines
Cancelling flights to various cities in the Middle East until April.
- Qatar Airways
Suspending operations due to the closure of Qatari airspace, with limited flights from 18-28 March.
- Turkish Airlines
Cancelling flights to several Middle Eastern countries until 19-20 March.
- Wizz Air
Suspending flights to Israel until the end of March and to other cities until mid-September.
