22 Road Sections in Bekasi Claimed to Be Repaired Ahead of Lebaran Exodus
The Bekasi City Government has ensured that repairs to several road sections serving as routes for the 2026 Lebaran exodus in its territory have been completed.
Ridwan Muarief, Sub-Coordinator for Road Maintenance at the Bekasi City Department of Civil Works and Water Resources, stated that road repair work is targeted for completion by seven days before Lebaran.
“Currently everything is already complete. Because our target is that seven days before Lebaran everything must be finished,” said Ridwan when confirmed by Kompas.com on Friday (13 March 2026).
Ridwan explained that several main road sections that have been repaired include I Gusti Ngurah Rai Street, Swatantra Street, KH Noer Ali Street, Chairil Anwar Street, Joyomartono Street, and Juanda Street.
“In total, there are 22 road sections that have been repaired in preparation for Lebaran exodus readiness,” said Ridwan.
Previously, Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto requested the Department of Civil Works and Water Resources to optimise road repairs that would be used by holiday travellers during Eid al-Fitr 2026.
Tri stated that some repair work was still ongoing because the procurement of new materials was only completed at the beginning of this week.
“We will ask them to optimise. Because indeed the procurement of materials only finished around Monday–Tuesday next week,” said Tri when met at the Bekasi City Government Plaza on Thursday (12 March 2026).
Nevertheless, Tri acknowledged that some road sections had not been completely repaired and there remained potholes that could pose a danger to drivers.
To anticipate these conditions, the Bekasi City Government has prepared temporary repairs using cold asphalt to keep roads safe for holiday travellers.
Tri emphasised that the City Government has also instructed related agencies to immediately compact road sections still under repair.
“I will order compaction work so that drivers will certainly not face excessive danger when passing through those roads,” he said.
According to Tri, the government is targeting all major routes used by holiday travellers in Bekasi City to be ready for use by next week.
“We will ensure next week is ready for holiday travellers to use,” said Tri.
