The Acceleration Task Force for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) following the Sumatran disaster has collected 2,684 cubic metres of driftwood. The wood will be utilised by local communities.

“Well, the data shows that approximately 2,684.51 cubic metres of driftwood have been successfully collected,” said Amran, spokesperson for the PRR Task Force following the Sumatran disaster, at the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Central Jakarta on Monday (9 March 2026).

Amran stated that the driftwood collected is being utilised for community benefit. Some of the wood has even become support material for constructing temporary shelters (huntara) for affected residents.

“Some is being utilised as support material for temporary shelter construction for disaster-affected communities,” he said.

In addition to collecting driftwood, the PRR Task Force following the Sumatran disaster has also cleared mud from numerous locations. In total, 406 locations have been cleaned from a target of 508 locations.

“The PRR Task Force following the disaster has carried out cleaning operations to the maximum extent, and based on current data, from the 508 locations targeted for mud clearance across three provinces, 406 locations have been cleaned,” said Amran.

Amran stated that the task force continues working to clear remaining mud. He said the government will clean other locations still pending.

“This means 100 per cent of these locations are now clean, whilst the remaining 102 are still being processed,” he said.
