REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Jakarta Provincial Department of Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Affairs (Citata) has recorded that 185 out of a total of 397 operating padel courts do not have the required permits. These padel courts are missing the necessary building permits (PBG).

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that he has ordered his staff to immediately take action against padel courts that do not have PBG permits. He explained that PBG is an absolute requirement for businesses wishing to build padel courts.

“I have instructed the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), mayors, sub-district heads, and other relevant parties to take firm action against anyone who does not have a PBG. This is an absolute requirement,” he said at the Jakarta Department of Education office on Thursday (26/2/2026).

He stated that administrative order is very important in development. Therefore, padel courts that do not have permits should be addressed.

Pramono also does not allow the construction of new padel courts in residential zones. Furthermore, he does not want padel courts to be built in green spaces.

“Thus, maintaining order in development in Jakarta is also important, including not allowing green spaces to be used for padel courts,” he said.
