Head of the Data and Information Centre (Kapusdatin) of the DKI Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Muhammad Yohan, stated that flooding is spread across West Jakarta and South Jakarta with varying water levels.

“BPBD records that flooding is currently occurring in 17 neighbourhoods and one road section. Water levels range from 30 to 120 cm,” Yohan said in his statement on Friday (1/5/2026).

In West Jakarta, flooding affects 7 neighbourhoods spread across Kedoya Selatan Subdistrict with 5 neighbourhoods and Kembangan Selatan Subdistrict with 2 neighbourhoods. Water levels in this area range from 30 to 50 cm.

Meanwhile, in South Jakarta, 10 neighbourhoods are impacted by flooding. The details are: 1 neighbourhood in Cipulir Subdistrict, 8 neighbourhoods in Pondok Pinang Subdistrict, and 1 neighbourhood in Kebayoran Lama Utara Subdistrict. Water levels in this area reach 30 to 120 cm.

“Flooding occurred due to high rainfall and overflows from the Pesanggrahan River, Angke River, and Krukut River,” he said.

In addition to residential areas, one road section is also observed to be flooded, namely Jalan Puri Kembangan, specifically in front of Budi Murni School, Kedoya Selatan Subdistrict, West Jakarta, with water levels around 20 cm.

BPBD DKI Jakarta also recorded several areas that were previously flooded but have now receded. These include Cilandak Barat Subdistrict, Cipedak, Pejaten Timur, Pondok Labu, Bintaro, Bidara Cina, Kampung Melayu, Balekambang, Cawang, up to Cililitan.

Yohan stated that his side has deployed personnel to monitor conditions in the field while handling the flooding together with related agencies.

“BPBD is deploying personnel to monitor flooding conditions and coordinate with the Water Resources Agency, Public Works Agency, and Transportation and Traffic Agency to carry out water pumping and ensure drainage channels function optimally,” he explained.

In addition, BPBD together with regional apparatus is preparing basic needs for affected residents. The flooding is targeted to recede quickly.

BPBD DKI Jakarta urges the public to remain alert to the potential for flooding and to be careful when carrying out activities. In emergency conditions, residents are asked to immediately contact the 112 emergency service, which operates 24 hours.
