Kesanga Festival 2026 was officially held on Friday (6 March 2026). A total of 16 ogoh-ogoh from village representatives in Denpasar City appeared on stage to showcase their best works in this annual event. Observations by detikBali at the site indicated that the Kesanga Festival, held annually, drew the attention of thousands of residents of Denpasar City and the surrounding areas. Crowds gathered to watch the performances by Yowana from each banjar representing their villages in Denpasar City. The event, which took place on Friday afternoon at Denpasar’s zero point, was already filled with people who were eager to watch since earlier. “Yeah, I just wanted to come here. It’s just that I can’t get close to watch, it’s so full (the crowds),” said De Krisna when contacted by detikBali. A similar sentiment was expressed by Andhika, another Denpasar resident. He came to the venue to enjoy the festival atmosphere while waiting for the time to break the fast. “I just wanted to come here, to see it for myself and to see it directly and also to ngabuburit.” Andhika said. Throughout the performances, the sound of gamelan accompanied ogoh-ogoh performances staged on the Kesanga Festival stage. Various forms and characters of ogoh-ogoh created by the yowana banjar were creative and attracted visitors’ attention. Although not all spectators could watch from close range, the festive atmosphere remained palpable amid the crowd that filled the festival area. Jalan Gajah Mada Traffic Jam The high enthusiasm of the public also affected traffic around the venue. Jalan Gajah Mada, one of the accesses to the zero point of Denpasar City, briefly experienced congestion. Vehicle density was visible as one entered the city’s central business district, especially around Pasar Badung and Pasar Kumbasari. Traffic on that route was crawling due to the large number of residents coming to watch Kesanga Festival 2026.
