West Bandung District Government has prepared Automatic Traffic Control System (ATCS) cameras to monitor Eid holiday traffic flows in 2026, with personnel stationed in the ATCS control room to oversee operations.

The Head of West Bandung’s Transportation Office, Mochammad Ridwan Evi, stated that 129 CCTV cameras distributed across 59 locations in West Bandung will be monitored through the ATCS system to track mudik movements during Eid al-Fitr in 1447 Hijri. Through this system, the public can also monitor traffic conditions directly via mobile phones.

“We will definitely activate the ATCS to manage Eid holiday traffic this year. There are 129 cameras at 59 locations spread throughout, including on mudik routes,” said Ridwan Evi when confirmed on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

West Bandung District is a transit zone for holiday travellers using both arterial routes and toll road networks. For toll routes, travellers typically use the Jakarta-Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang (West Bandung)-Cileunyi corridor. For non-toll access, West Bandung is crossed by travellers from Jakarta-Bogor-Sukabumi-Cianjur-Cipatat-Padalarang via Cipatat-Padalarang Highway.

Additionally, traffic flows through Karawang-Purwakarta-Cikalongwetan-Padalarang via Purwakarta Highway, and from Subang via Lembang towards Bandung and further to Priangan regions including Garut and Tasikmalaya. “These cameras are installed along mudik routes in West Bandung,” said Ridwan Evi.

The district predicts the first wave of mudik traffic will occur on 14-15 March 2026 due to the implementation of work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy, and a second wave on 18-19 March 2026 coinciding with the Nyepi holiday.

“We predict two surge waves of holiday travellers. The first is 14-15 March coinciding with WFA implementation, and the second wave is 18-19 March extending into the weekend,” said Ridwan Evi.
