116,026 Tourists Visit West Java During Idul Adha Holiday
During the Idul Adha holiday from 27 to 29 May 2026, the West Java Tourism and Culture Department (Disparbud) recorded 116,026 tourists visiting 162 tourist destinations across the province. The high number of visitors indicates that West Java’s tourism sector remains a top choice for the public to spend their holidays.
“This data shows that tourist movement in West Java was strong during the Idul Adha holiday, with visitors spread across various destinations and positively impacting the regional economy, particularly in the tourism sector and related industries,” said West Java Tourism and Culture Department Head Iendra Sofyan on Monday (1/6).
Bogor Leads
According to Iendra, based on the Tourism and Culture Information System (Siparbud), Bogor Regency recorded the highest number of tourists at 20,493 during the monitoring period.
In terms of tourist origins, domestic tourists dominated the visits, with 114,432 domestic visitors to various destinations in West Java, mostly from the province itself. Foreign tourists numbered 1,797, predominantly from Saudi Arabia.
“Regarding destinations, the most visited was Agrowisata Gunung Mas in Bogor Regency with 8,195 visitors, followed by Wisata Bahari with 6,579, Pangandaran Beach with 5,436, Bogor Botanical Gardens with 5,154, and At-Taqwa Grand Mosque with 4,943,” he added.
Disparbud, Iendra said, continues to monitor tourist movements through real-time reporting systems to ensure service quality and safety at tourist sites. He praised all destination managers and local governments for their active reporting, stating that the data serves as a basis for evaluation and future tourism development strategies.
“Positivity in tourist trends during the Idul Adha holiday is expected to continue in subsequent holiday periods to drive economic growth and improve the welfare of communities around tourist destinations,” he said.
Favourite Destinations
In Bandung’s Braga area, it remains one of the favourite spots crowded with visitors throughout the weekend. Tourists filled Jalan Braga to enjoy the historic atmosphere characterised by classic-style buildings and preserved old-town ambiance.
Hendri (34), a tourist from Jakarta, said he specifically visited Braga for its distinct atmosphere compared to other tourist spots. The well-preserved old buildings create a foreign-like feel, ideal for walking and taking photos.
“Besides enjoying the old-town ambiance, there are plenty of dining options from cafes and restaurants to street vendors. A variety of trendy snacks are easily found in Braga, plus the cool air makes it comfortable for strolling and exploring Bandung,” he explained.
Average hotel occupancy rates during the Nataru holiday period stood at around 32%.
