104 Paddle Courts in South Jakarta Lack Building Permits
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The South Jakarta municipal government has recorded 104 paddle courts within its jurisdiction lacking the required Building Permit (PBG).
“For South Jakarta itself, there are 209 paddle courts. As many as 105 units have permits, whilst 104 units do not have permits,” said South Jakarta Deputy Governor Ali Murthadho during a sealing operation in Jagakarsa, Jakarta, on Monday.
The enforcement measures begin based on inspection results. If a building is found to have been constructed without completing the PBG requirements, a warning letter will be issued.
All procedural stages ranging from the issuance of the first warning letter (SP1), SP2, through to SP3, as well as the imposition of activity restrictions, will be implemented.
According to Ali, this step is also part of education and outreach to construction businesses and building owners to complete licensing procedures before commencing construction.
On Monday, the South Jakarta Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Sub-Office (Citata) carried out a sealing operation on an unlicensed paddle court on Moh. Kahfi 1 Street RT 04/RW 04, Cipedak, Jagakarsa.
The Jakarta Provincial Government has also noted that 185 of 397 paddle courts in the capital lack building permits.
The Jakarta government has also prohibited paddle court construction on assets owned by the Jakarta Regional Government and on green open spaces (RTH).
Additionally, there is a prohibition on paddle courts being constructed in the midst of residential areas. For paddle courts located in residential areas that already have permits, the maximum operating hours have been set at 20:00 WIB.
