1,930 Residents Lack Access to Clean Water Following Floods in Banjar, Buleleng
A total of 1,930 residents in Tirtasari Village, Banjar District, Buleleng, Bali, are facing a shortage of access to clean water. These thousands of residents come from two hamlets: Dangin Margi and Dauh Margi.
This situation occurred due to the disruption of residents’ water sources following a flash flood that struck the Banjar area in Buleleng on Friday, 6 March. The Buleleng Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has distributed clean water assistance to meet the needs of residents in Tirtasari Village.
“Following up on the request for additional clean water from the Head of Tirtasari Village, we have distributed 5,000 litres of clean water to assist residents who are still experiencing limitations in clean water availability,” said Bulalang BPBD Head Gede Suyasa on Monday, 9 March 2026.
Suyasa disclosed that the number of affected residents in Dangin Margi Hamlet was recorded at 857 people. Meanwhile, in Dauh Margi Hamlet, there were 359 heads of household with a total of 1,073 people.
The Buleleng BPBD, he stated, will continue to monitor conditions in the field. Suyasa stressed that the Buleleng BPBD is ready to distribute additional aid if residents’ clean water needs are still not met.
