1,722 residents of Thousand Islands receive food assistance
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 1,722 residents in South Thousand Islands District, Thousand Islands, received food assistance for the February-March 2026 period to help ease the economic burden on the community.
“A total of 1,722 residents in South Thousand Islands District received food assistance from Bulog for the period from February to March 2026,” said the Head of South Thousand Islands District, M. Nur, in Jakarta on Monday.
He noted that the thousand or so residents come from three villages in South Thousand Islands District, namely Pulau Pari Village, Pulau Untung Jawa Village, and Pulau Tidung Village.
The distribution of the food assistance was carried out by the Thousand Islands Regency Government and Bulog from 6-10 April. In detail, there were 623 recipients in Pulau Pari Village, 402 recipients in Pulau Untung Jawa Village, and 697 recipients in Pulau Tidung Village.
He said that each recipient received an assistance package consisting of 20 kilograms of rice and 4 litres of cooking oil for the allocation of February and March 2026.
“The distribution process ran orderly, transparently, and on target, so that the benefits are truly felt maximally by the community for daily needs,” he said.
The Head of North Thousand Islands District, Yulihardi, said that the distribution of assistance has been carried out on two islands in Pulau Panggang Village, namely 708 recipients on Pulau Panggang and 249 recipients on Pulau Pramuka.
Meanwhile, there are still 10 recipients in the identification process.
Yulihardi mentioned that the total assistance distributed includes 19,340 kilograms of rice and 3,868 litres of cooking oil.
He detailed that for the Pulau Panggang area, the distribution reached 14,160 kilograms of rice and 2,832 litres of oil.
Meanwhile, on Pulau Pramuka, 4,980 kilograms of rice and 996 litres of oil were distributed.
“The remaining assistance that has not yet been identified for recipients amounts to 200 kilograms of rice and 40 litres of cooking oil,” he said.
He said that supervision was carried out to ensure the distribution of assistance runs smoothly and on target.
“We ensure that all this food assistance is received by entitled community members. For data that has not yet been identified, we are currently conducting verification together with the village authorities,” said Yulihardi.
