yep, something smells, and it ain't mud. seeing as PT. Energi Mega Persada is already effectively controlled by Bakrie, why are they now selling it to another subsidary company? do they think we are stupid?

Check out all the companies involved here. They are all, with the possible exception of Pan Asia Enterprises Ltd (who have hidden themselves very well in this regard) & XFN Asia all Bakrie affiliates. Something here is as smelly as the mud in Banjarpanji, however, I suppose this was to be expected as the name Bakrie is involved.

Energi Persada to sell Lapindo Brantas to Bakrie Group Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Oil and gas firm PT Energi Mega Persada intends to sell unit Lapindo Brantas Inc to a company wholly owned by Bakrie Group for a price that has yet to be determined, Energi Mega said. Energi Mega, through Hong Kong-based Kalila Ltd and Pan Asia Enterprises Ltd, owns 99.99 pct of Lapindo Brantas which, in turn, holds a 50 pct working interest in Brantas PSC. The deal is expected to be done in the near future.

Sumitomo to invest in Indonesian refinery after Sinopec pulls out Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Elnusa Holding said Japan's Sumitomo Corp has agreed to take a 20 pct share in the estimated 3 bln usd cost of an oil refinery project in Indonesia following the withdrawal of China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (Sinopec), company president Rudy Radjab said. Radjab told reporters that Sinopec withdrew from the project after it failed to secure a 51 pct stake.

(XOM) must begin development of the Natuna D-Alpha gas block in Indonesia's East Natuna Sea by Jan. 8, 2007, or face termination of the contract, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said Tuesday. "We will give Exxon until January 8 to launch its contract commitment to develop Natuna," Purnomo told reporters.
