Quota hampers rattan exports

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The rattan export quota for the April - June 2011 period has not yet been issued so that rattan exports are now being hampered, a rattan businessman said. The delay in their exports caused the quality of rattan products which are now ready for export to be reduced, Lisman Sumardjani, secretary general of the Indonesian Rattan Businessmen (APRI) said here on Sunday.

Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - The tourism industry is the driving force of Bali`s economy which is able to provide job opportunities for locals as well as for those from other regions in Indonesia, a statistics official said. Some 400 Chinese firms to exhibit goods in Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - About 400 Chinese companies will display electronic and machinery products in an international Expo to be staged in Kemayoran here on May 19 - 21, 2011, a Chinese official said. "The number of participants in the exhibition - the sixth to be staged in Indonesia - will be about 400 companies," Deputy President of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products(CCCME), Yu Zhang Jing, said here on Friday.

RI-China trade in 2011 expected to reach US$50 billion

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The value of non-oil/non-gas trade between Indonesia and China is expected to reach US$50 billion in 2011, a Chinese official said. "The actual figure may even exceed US$50 billion," Chinese embassy spokesman Xu Qi Yi said at a press conference on a planned Chinese Electronics and Machinery Exhibition here on Friday. He said the amount was above the value of trade between the two countries last year which was at US$42.75 billion.

Pertamina encouraged to take part in Angolan oil field block

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State Enterprises (BUMN) Minister Mustafa Abubakar said he had encouraged state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina to take part in the development of an oil and gas block in Angola. "In the framework of expansion, we encourage Pertamina to `go regional, go global,`" the minister said here on Friday. He said that taking part in the cultivation of oil and gas in the Angolan oil field block would increase the national oil lifting and increase its profit.

Lebanese City offers space for Indonesian trade promotions

Cairo (ANTARA News) - The mayor of the Lebanese city of Baalbeck, Hachem Osman, has offered to provide space for Indonesian trade promotion activities in his territory. The offer was made at a meeting with the Indonesian ambassador to Lebanon Dimas Samodra Rum on Thursday, according to a press statement issued by the Indonesian embassy in Beirut. "We want to see more Indonesian products to come to Lebanon because they are of good quality and reasonably priced.
