Epson opens new factory in Cikarang

PT Indonesia Epson Industry, a subsidiary of Japan-based Seiko Epson Group (SEG), launched its new plant at EJIP industrial estate in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Friday. Coal, Metal Export Permits Added to Deal With Backlog

Indonesia, the world’s top supplier of thermal coal, has issued more trading permits that will allow traders to export coal and metals stuck at ports since January, an energy ministry official said. The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has awarded a total of 101 trading licenses, an increase from 60 earlier this month, out of 338 applications, Bambang Gatot Ariyono, the director of mining development at the ministry, said on Thursday.

Inflation Shouldn’t Curb Office Demand in Business District

Analysts and industry players expect demand for office space in Jakarta’s central business district to continue growing this year as landlords take rising inflation and other costs into account. Real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield said in a report on Wednesday that many landlords raised their base rental and service rates in the fourth quarter last year. It said many buildings with stable and high occupancy rates saw base rental prices increase 5 percent to 10 percent.

President Urges Jakarta Governor to Act Fast on Infrastructure

Paliudju has given an ultimatum to PT International Nickel Corporation (Inco) to conduct mining activities in Morowali regency, especially in the Bahodopi and Kolonodale blocks. Govt to focus on seaweed cultivation in 33 districts

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government will focus on seaweed cultivation in 33 districts classified as disadvantaged regions in seven provinces. "The focus on seaweed cultivation will be made by five ministries and Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) to speed up economic development in disadvantaged regions," State Minister for Disadvantaged Regions Ahmad Helmi Faisal Zaini said here on Thursday.

Japan shows interest in Indonesia`s infrastructure market

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Japan trough its external trade wing has shown interest in Indonesia`s transportation infrastructure market which is valued at 120 billion US dollars until 2014.
