IBM to Invest More in Indonesia
IBM is getting more serious in trying new changes in Indonesia. by Hadi Suprapto, Bayu Galih VIVAnews - Indonesian Vice President Boediono welcomed top officials from IBM Corporation in his office. Malaysia and Indonesia enhance cooperation in content industry
Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News/Bernama) - Malaysia and Indonesia Tuesday signed an agreement to boost cooperation in the fields of information and communications especially those involving the content industry for mutual benefits. Information Communication and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim said this was necessary as cooperation in communications and information sharing between the two countries was still lacking.

Indonesia's Diluted Expatriate Property Rule Nearly Completed
The government has backpedaled on a proposal to allow foreigners to own property in Indonesia for 90 years and will now only simplify the extension process and not change the maximum length of title from the current 70-year tenure. The changes are contained in a new regulation which will be presented to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for approval before the end of May, the Ministry of Public Housing’s Jamil Ansari said on Wednesday.

Unilever unit says Indonesia remains key palm oil supplier
JAKARTA, May 5 (Reuters) - The Indonesian unit of Unilever (ULVR.L) (UNc.AS), the world's top palm oil buyer, on Wednesday said it gets 65 percent of its palm oil from Indonesia despite halting purchases from a unit of market leader Sinar Mas Group. Unilever, which uses palm oil in such products as Dove soap and Ben & Jerry ice cream, cancelled its annual 20 million pound ($30.27 million) contract with one of its Indonesian suppliers, PT SMART (SMAR.JK) in December.

People in Surakarta Uninterested in Job Opportunities
Surakarta:The Surakarta Social, Manpower, and Transmigration Office chief in charge of Manpower Placement and Work Expansion, Agus Alwanto, said not many people in the area were interested in jobs whose tasks includes getting customers, such as insurance, banking, and marketing. He mentioned that during the period from January to March 2010, there are 241 job openings but only 56 people sent their applications. Agus lamented job seekers in Surakarta who are being selective about their job.

Business Confidence in Indonesia is Higher than in other Asian Countries
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The level of trust of businesses in Indonesia is higher than the average rate in Asian countries. The 2010 Edelmen Trust Barometer survey said the level of trust in Indonesia is as high as 64 percent while that in Asia – Pacific is 58 percent, and globally it is 54 percent. The survey involved 4.875 opinion makers in 22 countries, including 200 respondents from the educated group in Indonesia.
