Minister: US to Sign Investment Deals During Obama Indonesia Visit

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Indonesian and US government will sign about six economic cooperation agreements during the visit of President Barack Obama late nexth month, official said on Tuesday (23/2). Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Radjasa said some of the fields of cooperation were education, industry, forestry, energy, and agriculture. “The United States is preparing a huge fund for investment,” Hatta said, but he said he forgot to ask how huge the investments will be.

CAFTA bearable if SNI enforced : business leader

Semarang, C Java, (ANTARA News) - A business leader said here on Monday that the impact of the China-Asean Free Trade Agreement could be dealt with by the enforcement of Indonesian National Standards (SNI) requirements. "The government must cooperate with the business community and universities in connection with the SNI`s imposition which must immediately be carried out," the chief of the Association of Indonesian Businessmen (Apindo), Sofyan Wanandi said.
