Edy Putra Irawady, the Economic Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, said the competition was not too high in the country’s eastern region, providing more opportunities for Taiwan. “In the western region, we would compete with Singapore, China, and others,” he said during a seminar on Indonesia-Taiwan collaboration yesterday.

The statement was made by Agriculture Minister Suswono here Monday when briefing the First Joint Committee Meeting on Agriculture Cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia in Bandung on December 13, 2010. The ministerial meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Suswono and Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Industry Noh Omar at Hotel Grand Preanger in Bandung.
