Coca Cola Amatil meets with SBY, pledges to up investment
Australia-based Coca Cola Amatil will increase its investment in Indonesia by A$100 million per year, it was announced when the company’s managing director Terry Davis met Wednesday with Indonesia’s President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Davis told reporters after the meeting at the Presidential Office that his company would continue to increase its investment in the country every year for at least the next three years.

Indonesian High Court Hands Victory to Carrefour in Monopoly Case
Jakarta. The Supreme Court has rejected the Business Competition Supervisory Commission’s appeal of its ruling that voided sanctions against French-based retailer Carrefour for unfair market practices. The commission, also known as the KPPU, accused Carrefour in November last year of violating business competition laws by monopolizing the wholesale supplier market and imposing unfair trading terms on its suppliers.

China Asked to Invest in Shipping
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The government has asked China to invest in shipping and harbor development. One of the industry potential, said Edy Putra Irawadi, deputy Coordinating Minister for the Economy, in charge of Industry and Trade, is the big volume, 110.000 ships or around 30 percent of the world trade volume pass through the Malacca Strait on the Sumatra east coast. The government also wants to build connectivity in eastern Indonesia to reduce activities in Java.

Govt invites Chinese investors to develop ports
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government is inviting Chinese investors to increase their investment in the shipbuilding and port sector in Indonesia, an official said.
