Bakrieland talking to Disney on Indonesia park-source

JAKARTA Nov 11 (Reuters) - Indonesian developer Bakrieland (ELTY.JK) is in talks with Walt Disney Company (DIS.N) to build a $1 billion theme park in the country's main Java island, a source with knowledge of the matter told Reuters on Thursday. Strong consumer demand and a youthful population are driving growth in Southeast Asia's biggest economy, which is now attracting increased foreign portfolio and direct investment, though Western firms are often put off by rampant corruption.

Indonesia Proposes Biofuel Factory in Austria

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Indonesian government proposed an Indonesia-Austria collaboration in building a biofuel factory in Austria. “The raw material will come from Indonesia,” said Hatta Rajasa, The Coordinating Minister of Economy, yesterday after meeting the Austrian Economic Minister, Reinhold Mitterlehner.

Indonesia-US Geothermal Joint-Venture Planned

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The government is preparing a clean energy and geothermal energy scheme in cooperation with the US government. This is a follow-up on the bilateral agreements mentioned by US President Barack Obama in his speech yesterday. The Director General of New and Renewable Energy, Luluk Sumiarso, said that technically, his department is ready even before Obama’s arrival in Indonesia.

Bali-China trade relations increasing

Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - Bali Governor Mangku Made Pastika said Bali-China trade relations have been increasing marked with a plan of big investors wishing to operate in the island paradise in the power sector. A Chinese company Chen Zhen wished to turn Bali into a Green Province, the governor said when meeting Chinese Parliament speaker Wu Bangguo in Nusa Dua, head of the Bali provincial administration public relations Ketut Teneng said here Thursday.

Kotabaru`s coal exports reach 31.5 million tons

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - The South Kalimantan town of Kotabaru`s coal exports up to September 2010 reached 31.5 million metric tons worth 1.744 billion US dollars. Head of the Kotabaru trade and export division of the trade, investment and market management agency, Ratnawati, said here Thursday that the export of several commodities including coal from Kotabaru had been fluctuating.
