Retailers expect a good H2
As the economy improves, modern retailers expect their sales to grow by 15 percent in the second half-year from a year earlier, compared to the 10 percent growth they witnessed between the first six months of 2008 and 2009. Between January and June 2009, modern retailers booked Rp 30.8 trillion (US$3.1 billion) in sales, a 10 percent rise from the Rp 28 trillion posted in the same period in 2008, according to the Association of Indonesian Retailers (Aprindo). Statistics: Economic Growth Hits 4 Percent
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: National economic growth in the second quarter this year hit the highly expected four percent the statistics agency claimed on Monday. The agency said the economy rose by 4 percent year on year and about 2.3 percent from the previous quarter. Head of the statistics agency Rusman Heriawan said three sectors with the highest growth during the quarter are utility (electricity, gas, and clean water) 8.1 percent, transport 4,7 percent, and agriculture 3.5 percent.

Indonesia's Q2 Domestic Growth Slows To 4%, but Still Leads Region
The domestic economy grew at a slower pace in the second quarter of this year, in line with expectations and largely due to falling exports and declining private consumption, although by global standards the country remained among the world’s best-performing economies. Data released on Monday by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) showed that the economy grew by a robust 4 percent pace in the second quarter from the same period a year ago.

Indonesian Economy Shows Fastest Growth in Southeast Asia
Official statistics showed on Monday that Indonesia still had the fastest-growing economy in Southeast Asia, with improving prices for the country’s key export commodities and a robust domestic market credited for the good result. The country’s gross domestic product growth of 4 percent in the second quarter placed Indonesia among the top three fastest growing economies in Asia, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said. China posted more than 7 percent growth in the same period.
