In addition to declining exports, Indonesia’s industry is under another threat of equally great significance - a continued drop in imports of key raw materials. At the same time however, the EU is discussing a proposal accusing Indonesia of deforestation. Executive Director of Indonesian Greenomics, Elfian Effendi, said this occurred between September and October 2008. He said the data came from the CPO export transaction reports to the EU issued by the Industry Department.
