Less imported raw materials: Industrial output to fall
In addition to declining exports, Indonesia’s industry is under another threat of equally great significance - a continued drop in imports of key raw materials. Such conditions could have a major impact on the unemployment rate, said Edy Putra, a deputy to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, on Tuesday.

CPO Imports to European Union Increase
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Crude Palm Oil (CPO) imports from Indonesia and Malaysia to the European Union (EU) increased last year. At the same time however, the EU is discussing a proposal accusing Indonesia of deforestation. Executive Director of Indonesian Greenomics, Elfian Effendi, said this occurred between September and October 2008. He said the data came from the CPO export transaction reports to the EU issued by the Industry Department.
