Indonesia's new ministers elaborate programs

JAKARTA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's ministers of the new cabinet inaugurated on Oct. 22 have elaborated their programs in their first 100 working days, local media reported on Friday. The Minister for Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik has set a target of cutting the "short visa on arrival" service provided at airports and seaports across the country within the first 100 days in office.

Darwin eyes private investment

The new energy and ministerial resources minister, Darwin Zahedy Saleh, has set his sights on accelerating the realization of private investment in the sector through various programs and regulations. “Increasing production has been our concern and challenge. Thousands of Buyers Participate in Trade Expo

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Around 90 percent of the preparations for the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) have been completed. “Physical and construction preparations are still being made. But it is 90 percent done,” said Hesti Indah Kresnarini, the National Export Development Agency chief, yesterday (22/10) at her office. Additionally, the number of participants registering for the event has almost reached the set target. “About 85 percent out of the targeted 770 have registered,” Hesti said.

Yudhoyono Mulls Less Reliance on Coal

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: President Susilo Bambnag Yudhoyono reportedly has ordered the energy and mineral Resources Department to manage efforts to reduce energy reliance on coal in the first cabinet meeting of his last term in office. “It's good to know that the focus will be shifted to renewable energy,” Environment Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta said on Friday during the job handover ceremony at the Environment Ministry, without elaborating.
