Soybean scarcity may fuel inflation in January

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A soybean scarcity that happened early this year is predicted to fuel inflation in rest of January - something which could affect the government`s annual inflation target of 5 percent with plus or minus one percent. "This situation has the potential of fueling inflation," the National Development Planning Board`s Macro Planning Director Bambang Prijambodo said here on Tuesday.

Bali`s exports exceed target

Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - Bali province in the first eleven months of 2007 exported US$461.9 million worth of non-oil/non-gas commodities, exceeding its target of US$458.7 million for the year. "I believe the foreign exchange earnings from Bali`s non-oil/non-gas exports will be 10 percent higher than the central government-set target," Head of the Foreign Trade Division at the Bali Industry and Trade Office Ni Wayan Kusumawathi said here Tuesday.

Govt to lower soybean import duty

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government would lower the soybean import duty to lower the domestic price of soybean, Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said here, Monday. "One concrete move that we can take is to lower the import duty from 10 percent to five or zero percent. We will calculate it later," the minister said after a talk with tofu and tempe (fermented soybean cake) producers at the Presidential Palace.

Indonesia to switch 10 pct petroleum to biofuel

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia plans to substitute around 10 percent of its fossil fuel transport consumption with biofuel products by 2010, a senior government official said on Monday. The resource-rich tropical nation has been pushing the use of biofuels made from various resources such as palm oil, sugar cane and cassava to cut the use of costly petroleum products.

Entrepreneurs Complain about Listing Fee

The fee was included in article 8 point 4g of Presidential Regulation No.112 regarding the Zoning and Management of Traditional Markets, Shopping Centers and Modern Markets, issued on December 27, 2007.
