Four Americans detained for 'assault'
Another shining example of great Indonesian labour workers behavior. I recently went to a factory with tons of workers who purposely skipped work to get fired so they can get their puluhan juta in PHK money, and all their female workers take their 'cuti haid' every month.

i've made a lot of money in the past helping americans get their factories back. they seem to have a habit of losing them. possibly because they are absentee owners who think they have indonesian 'partners' they can trust.

Wasn't Balaraja where Piss Salons elephants ran amok? 1am seems a rather strange time to "just claiming their property back" . What with them being American and all, I suspect that they deserved it be default - I thought all Americans were olympic rated sportsmen, and as such they should have been able to have just run away with a few leaps and bounds.

Four Americans detained for 'assault'
Multa Fidrus and Abdul Khalik, The Jakarta Post, Tangerang, Jakarta Four Americans along with dozens of their employees have been arrested by the Tangerang Police for allegedly assaulting two workers at swimsuit producer PT Natural Selaras II in Olex Industrial Plant in Balaraja, Tangerang regency, Banten. Tangerang Police chief of detectives Insp. Ade Arie said that the four American citizens have been placed in Tangerang Penitentiary pending investigation.

Yes, she was, but i don't begrudge her actually; she seems like a nice old gal; she is merely a pawn for other institutions and influences. I'm sure she would want to create an environment that would prove detrimental to JK and AB..... They should give the portfolio to Sri Mulyani, then we might seem some action....??...

Indonesia`s Bank ANK to merge with Australia`s Commonwealth Bank
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia's Bank Arta Niaga Kencana will be merged into Australia's Commonwealth Bank (CBA) once a planned takeover is completed, the banks said Friday. CBA has already purchased ANK stock held by private shareholders amounting to 57 percent of the bank. After the merger, CBA, Australia's largest retail bank, will have 50 branches operating on Java and Bali islands. No lay-offs would occur after the merger, the banks were quoted by AFP as saying.

yes, i certainly noticed it. They just don't get it. And Trade Minister Mari herself was at least party responsible for the last investment catastrophe, the updated Negative List of July, which further strangled any chance of increased investment. i'm eagerly awaiting latest monthly investment figures from the BKPM.

10 years after the yanks hightailed out of indonesia, after "their guy" was deposed, the morons at KADIN figure out that the bules they are seeing aren't US american! investment interest in Indonesia by US citizens and corporations has in fact picked up over the past two years, but in overall terms they are still way, way behind other countries.

Car terminal, one-stop customs set at Priok Port
The government will roll out next month its planned car terminal and a one-stop customs service at Jakarta's Tanjung Priok Port as part of efforts to improve the flow of goods in and out of the country. The special terminal for the export and import of cars at Tanjung Priok, which cost some Rp 200 billion (US$21.5 million) to complete, will be fully operational by September, the Transportation Ministry's director general for sea transportation Harijogi said.

Lippo Group to invest $650m in multimedia
Lippo Group, through its subsidiary PT First Media Tbk, will invest up to US$650 million over four years to strengthen the company's broadband-based multimedia business. First Media Chief Executive Officer Roberto Fernandez Feliciano said here Thursday that the money would be used to expand the company's broadband communication networks, including its high-speed internet connection and cable TV services.

Sofyan Wanandi, the acting chairman of Kadin's committee on the U.S., also inaugurated the committee's executive board, which will be responsible for its daily operations.
