Yamaha motorcycle sales up 29%

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Motorcycle maker PT Yamaha Motor Kencana Indonesia (YMKI) said its domestic sales in the first nine months of 2007 rose 29 percent to 1.5 million units compared to the same period last year. "Yamaha motorcycle sales exceeded the average motorcycle sales growth rate in Indonesia which stood at 9 percent," PT YMKI President Director Dyonisius Beti said here Monday.

Batam to turn Rempang, Galang islands in to main FTZ

Batam (ANTARA News) - The Batam city administration is set to turn the two nearby islands of Rempang and Galang into a main zone in implementing the planned free trade zone (FTZ) scheme in Batam. "The city administration will submit a draft regulation to amend Bylaw No.2/2004 on the 2004-2010 spatial layout plan to adjust it to the FTZ in Batam," Batam Mayor Ahmad Dahlan said here Tuesday.
