Tapping a gas gusher in Indonesia

JAKARTA – After a series of environmental, funding and supply contract problems, surging regional demand has given new impetus to Indonesia's US$6.5 billion Tangguh liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, which with 14 trillion cubic feet of proven reserves represents one of the largest gas fields in all Asia. Energy Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said last week that the first LNG deliveries from the plant are now expected to start by the end of next year.

Banten refinery project left in lurch after Iran reneges on oil supplies

Ika Krismantari, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta State-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina is seeking crude oil supplies from other oil producing countries to feed its refinery project in Banten. Pertamina director of refining Suroso Atmomartoyo said here Monday evening that the decision was taken following Iran's move to cut its supply commitment to the refinery from 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day to only 100,000 barrels.

Then i really have to question why "former president Megawati Soekarnoputri-led PDIP faction disapproved the decision." No wonder when ever the topic of past presidents comes up the only one that get a 100% disaproval rating is Megawati. I for one am on a fact finding mission to Batam as somebody is going to have to help them find the 30,000 people they neeed!
