RI supplies 43 percent of world CPO market Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia accounted for some 43 percent of the world`s crude palm oil (CPO) production totalling 36.5 million tons and Malaysia for 43.3 percent, Astra Agro Lestari (AALI) director Julie Syaftari said here on Friday. The rest was contributed by Nigeria, Thailand, Colombia and other countries.

Japan to assist Gorontalo maize farmers Gorontalo (ANTARA News) - Japan has promised to provide 20 units of Yanmar and Kubota tractors for Gorontalo maize farmers to help increase their production, Yasin Muhamad of Gorontalo`s Agriculture and Food Resilience Service said here on Friday. "The Japanese assistance is expected to arrive in Gorontalo in the middle of August," Yasin said adding that the agricultural vehicles would support one of the regional government`s primary agricultural programs.

Indonesia allots 6 mln hectares for biofuel Putrajaya (ANTARA News) - Indonesia has earmarked 6 million hectares for development of its biofuel industry, part of plans to reduce its dependence on crude oil and susceptibility to price fluctuations, its energy minister said Friday. "Our target to develop our biofuel industry is by 2009-2010," said Energy Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro.
