Zulkifli Hasan Distributes Food Aid to Kendari Residents
Kendari — The Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkefli Hasan, has distributed 750 packages of rice aid to residents in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi Province, to meet the needs of the local population.
Speaking in Kendari on Tuesday, Zulkifli Hasan stated that the rice aid is part of the government’s efforts to provide basic necessities, particularly for those in Kendari.
“This aid is intended to assist our citizens in Kendari; the amount has been determined, and priority is given to low-income communities,” said Zulkifli Hasan.
On this occasion, he also monitored food stocks at a low-cost market organised by the Kendari City Government. He interacted with traders regarding the availability of basic commodities, including shallots, garlic, and various spices available at the market.
“Prices remain affordable, though some have increased due to limited stocks,” he noted.
He reiterated that the aid consists of 750 packages for the people of Kendari.
Rauf, a local official, stated that the beneficiaries reside in the MTQ area of Kendari, spanning seven sub-districts. “We are certainly grateful to the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs for providing aid to the people of Kendari,” he said.
He also ensured that the residents receiving packages from Minister Zulkifli Hasan are not recipients of the food aid programme for the October, November, and December periods. Rauf further confirmed that the aid for the underprivileged is free of charge. Consequently, he requested that recipients report any individuals attempting to demand payment during the distribution of the aid.
