Mataram (ANTARA) - PAN General Chairman Zulkifli Hasan has invited all cadres in West Nusa Tenggara to oversee and ensure the success of President Prabowo Subianto’s policies and priority programmes. “I ask the regents and council members from PAN to help,” said Zulkifli Hasan after the inauguration of the PAN NTB Provincial and District Board executives as well as the PAN NTB Regional Working Meeting in Mataram on Friday. He mentioned several government priority programmes, including food self-sufficiency, the Merah Putih cooperative, people’s schools, fishing villages, the free nutritious meal programme (MBG), fertiliser availability for farmers, and poverty alleviation. According to him, the current state of national food security is relatively safe, even though the global situation is unstable. “Our rice is in surplus, egg, fish, and vegetable production is sufficient. Insya Allah, food needs will be secure until next year,” he said. He added that PAN is also promoting the development of Merah Putih village/sub-district cooperatives and strengthening the fisheries sector through the fishing village programme. On the other hand, he asked PAN cadres to convey to the public that the national economic condition remains stable. “Economic growth above 5 per cent, inflation below 3 per cent, and the state budget deficit is also under control. This shows our economy is quite strong, though we must remain vigilant,” he stated. Zulkifli Hasan also reminded the importance of maintaining internal party solidarity in overseeing government programmes amid global dynamics. According to him, PAN is currently focused on improving public welfare, especially for farmers, fishermen, and livestock breeders. “Our focus is on how to improve the living standards of the people. Regarding election targets, that will come later,” he said.
