Zulhas Reveals Government Focuses Free Nutritious Meals Programme on 3T Regions, Targets Completion Within a Month

The government has stated that the free nutritious meal (MBG) programme is currently focused on underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. Fulfilment of MBG in 3T areas is targeted for completion within one month.

“Alhamdulillah, it is now led by a new, young person, Mas Dar (Sudaryono), who is open and intelligent. We asked for two months to refocus,” said Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan at the Directorate General of Taxes building of the Ministry of Finance, South Jakarta, Friday (14/8/2026).

“We will complete the 3T regions: NTT, Papua, Maluku, which are in great need. We will complete this within one month,” he continued.

Zulhas also stated that the government is currently targeting MBG beneficiaries such as mothers, toddlers, breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women, whose numbers reach 11 million, to be completed within one to two months.

Likewise, the completion of 13,000 new Nutrition Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) points is planned to be finished within two months.

“What may take a slightly longer time, perhaps two months, is completing the 13,000 new points, additional ones outside Java, and completing the 7,000 to 8,000 SPPGs that have not yet completed their SLHS. We are asking for two months for this,” Zulhas explained.

Zulhas said the government will work hard so that MBG services will continue to improve.

“God willing, MBG in the next one to two months will be even better. In line with the public’s expectations, we will work hard and ask for your support,” he concluded.
