Zulhas: PAN Is Not a Weak Party
Jakarta - The General Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Zulkifli Hasan, or familiarly known as Zulhas, has targeted a top-three vote share for the party he leads in Banten province in the 2029 Legislative Elections.
Zulhas conveyed this target while attending the inauguration and regional working meeting of the PAN Banten Provincial Board (DPW) at the Indoor Stadium in Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency, on Saturday (9/5/2026).
“Let us make history, unite our dreams and obsessions, we are not a weak party. Let us make history to position PAN in the top three,” said Zulhas, in a press release received by Kompas.com on Saturday.
Zulhas stated that PAN must strengthen internal consolidation and maintain closeness with the community if it wants to boost its vote share in Banten.
“The PAN Banten Chairman has chosen the right person, young, and capable,” he said.
According to Zulhas, the top-three target is realistically achievable if the party machinery operates solidly down to the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, Irna affirmed that PAN Banten will focus on strengthening the party structure to face the 2029 Legislative Elections.
The wife of Banten Deputy Governor Dimyati Natakusumah said that PAN does not set a target to become the winning party in Banten, but rather to break into the top three positions.
“We do not aim for first place, PAN only needs to be in the top three. We will accompany the leadership of Mr Andra Soni and Dimyati Natakusumah,” she concluded.
To achieve this target, PAN is accelerating consolidation and aiming to complete the formation of boards at all levels by the end of 2026.
This target was set at the First National Working Meeting of PAN in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday (26/11/2025).
PAN Deputy General Chairman Viva Yoga Mauladi said that the 15 percent vote target for the 2029 Elections, equivalent to 85 seats in the House of Representatives, was formulated based on the potential for vote increases in several electoral districts (dapil).
“In the 2024 Elections, there were several dapil where we lost by a narrow margin. In the 2029 Elections, we will optimise our support base in those dapil,” he said when contacted on Wednesday (26/11/2025).
