Zulhas Discusses Permanent PAN-Gerindra Coalition, Highlights Three-Time Support for Prabowo
Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas), stated that PAN has formed a permanent coalition with Gerindra Party. This is because PAN has nominated Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto as presidential candidate three times. Zulhas conveyed this during PAN’s First National Working Meeting (Rakernas) at the PAN Central Executive Board in Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3/2026). On that occasion, Zulhas was known to have invited Gerindra’s Deputy Chairman of the Central Executive Board, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi, and the President’s Special Envoy for Youth Development and Arts Workers, Raffi Ahmad. “We only invited Pak Dasco and Raffi. One more is Pras, actually, Pak Mensesneg. Why only three? Because this is already a permanent coalition. Well, it’s already three times (nominating Prabowo), so that coalition earlier, a permanent coalition,” Zulhas told reporters at the PAN Central Executive Board in Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Zulhas also assured PAN’s loyalty to President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership. He guaranteed that PAN will continue to stand in support of Prabowo and oversee the government’s strategic programmes. Dasco welcomed Zulhas’s statement. He acknowledged that the partnership between Gerindra and PAN has indeed been long-standing and hopes this coalition remains solid going forward. “Yes, if we say, we have indeed been in coalition for a long time with the hope as mentioned, what Pak Zul said, we also hope that this is enduring. And yes, the coalition will continue to run,” Dasco said. “We have also seen evidence that the National Mandate Party indeed upholds its commitment in supporting President Prabowo’s programmes,” Dasco added.
