Zulhas Calls PAN-Gerindra Alliance a Permanent Coalition, Here's Dasco's Response
Jakarta – The General Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas, stated that his party is in a permanent coalition with the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra). This is because PAN has endorsed Gerindra’s General Chairman, Prabowo Subianto, as a presidential candidate three times.
Zulhas made this comment in response to a question about the presence of the Daily Executive Board Chairman of Gerindra, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, at the PAN I National Conference at the PAN Central Executive Board Office in South Jakarta on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
Zulhas explained that his party did not only invite Dasco, but also the State Secretary Minister, Prasetyo Hadi, and the President’s Special Envoy for Youth Development and Arts Workers, Raffi Ahmad.
“We only invited Mr Dasco and Raffi. One more is actually Pras, Mr Prasetyo. Why only three? Because this is already a permanent coalition. Yes, three times (endorsing Prabowo), so the coalition earlier, a permanent coalition,” said Zulhas to reporters on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
Hearing this, Dasco welcomed it positively. Dasco hopes that the coalition between PAN and Gerindra can last a long time.
“Yes, if you say, we have indeed been in coalition for a long time. With the hope earlier, yes, what Mr Zul said, we also hope that this will endure and yes, the coalition will continue to run,” said Dasco.
Moreover, said Dasco, PAN continues to commit to supporting the programmes of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.
“And we have also seen evidence that the National Mandate Party indeed holds firmly to its commitment in supporting President Prabowo’s programmes in the future programmes,” Dasco concluded.
