ZTE Wins Three GSMA GLOMO Awards as Pioneer of a Smarter Future
Barcelona, Spain – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of integrated information and communications technology solutions, has won multiple GSMA Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards at MWC Barcelona 2026.
ZTE won the “Best Private Network Solution”, “Open Gateway Challenge”, and “Best Event Activation” awards for its continuous technology innovation and comprehensive integration across various industries. These achievements demonstrate ZTE’s status as an industry leader in delivering open gateway innovation, 5G-Advanced (5G-A) private networks, and 5G-A implementation across diverse industrial scenarios. The recognition underscores ZTE’s innovative solutions gaining top-level acknowledgement from the global cellular communications industry.
Best Private Network Solution: EasyOn 5G-A-RobotNet Solution
The “EasyOn 5G-A-RobotNet” solution, developed by ZTE in partnership with China Telecom, intelligent robotics company AGIBOT, and DroidUp, won the Best Private Network Solution award. This recognises the solution as a successful cellular private network model that has transformed company operations.
By combining 5G-Advanced connectivity with embodied AI technology, the development team demonstrated that dedicated network infrastructure can be optimised to digitalise the operation of complex robots whilst supporting flexible and large-scale automation—something previously difficult to achieve with public cellular networks or Wi-Fi. EasyOn 5G-A-RobotNet manages robots from various manufacturers (cross-brand robots). This infrastructure enables companies to manage multiple humanoid robots in a unified system whilst reducing the implementation costs of large-scale robot deployment. Additionally, the solution facilitates real-time collection of high-quality multimodal data, accelerating the development of foundational models for embodied AI.
Open Gateway Challenge Award: AI-Powered Open Gateway Solution
The “AI-Powered Open Gateway” solution, developed by ZTE with China Mobile Group’s Network Department, China Mobile Hangzhou Research Institute, and JD.com, retained the Open Gateway Challenge award for its cutting-edge technology innovation and high implementation value.
Following the same award win in the previous year, China Mobile and ZTE have continued to innovate. Together with strategic partner JD.com, they launched the AI-Powered Open Gateway solution (New AaaS – Abilities as a Service).
The solution targets industrial customers and addresses various challenges, including high barriers to CAMARA API usage and low execution efficiency in certain scenarios. Supported by ZTE’s NEF core network products and API Exposure AI Agent deployment, the solution delivers four major innovations: intent recognition, intelligent orchestration, cross-operator adaptation, and protocol extension. In practice, the project also involved collaboration with JD.com, leveraging core capabilities such as network acceleration (QoD) from 5G/5G-A networks to drive innovation in customer service. By combining messaging, voice, video, multimedia, and multimodal interaction technologies, the solution creates a new paradigm for AI-based customer service that enhances response efficiency and customer satisfaction. Through large model enhancement for customer service and AI data flywheel development, the project has become a benchmark for next-generation intelligent call centre industries.
Best Event Activation Award: 5G-A Powered Concert Live Streaming Project
The “5G-A Powered Concert Live Streaming” project, developed by ZTE with China Telecom and R&J, won the Best Event Activation award. This achievement marks the successful commercialisation of 5G-A in the concert live streaming industry, opening significant transformation opportunities for various live streaming scenarios, including performances, cultural and entertainment events, and education.
The solution was first deployed at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre in Zhejiang Province. Through its superior performance in supporting concert live streaming, it has become a replicable example for large-scale wireless live streaming innovation and implementation. The 5G-A EasyOn•Live solution achieves uplink speeds exceeding 2 Gbps per camera, supporting simultaneous high-definition live streaming transmission from multiple cameras. Supported by the NodeEngine computing engine, the solution shortens data transmission paths, enhances transmission security, and enables efficient private network deployment. The 5G-A SuperMIMO technology also ensures stable and smooth image transmission even in complex weather conditions such as rain. Compared to standard DVB solutions, EasyOn•Live provides multi-camera coverage, high-definition image quality, and exceptional stability with a single network without requiring costly additional hardware. This effectively addresses major challenges for event organisers and offers new technology solutions for the live streaming industry in the cultural and entertainment sector.
The annual GLOMO Awards is one of the most prestigious awards in the cellular communications industry. With a judging panel comprising more than 200 independent judges, the 2026 GLOMO Awards recognised individuals and companies that drive innovation and demonstrate excellence in the rapidly evolving cellular industry.
As one of the most prestigious awards in the global cellular communications industry, the GLOMO Awards represent recognition of ZTE’s leadership in open gateway innovation, 5G-A private networks, and 5G-A implementation across various industrial scenarios. Looking ahead, ZTE will continue to strengthen cooperation with global operators and industry partners.
