ZTE Global Summit & User Congress 2026 Officially Opens in Kuala Lumpur, Driving Connectivity-Based Digital Transformation
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of integrated information and communications technology solutions, has officially opened the 15th ZTE Global Summit & User Congress. Held under the theme “Architecting Infinity–From Connectivity to Digital Value”, the event is being hosted alongside the GSMA M360 ASEAN event for the first time.
As ZTE’s largest-scale overseas annual forum, the summit has attracted over 500 participants, including government officials, ICT industry leaders, operator executives, and ecosystem partners. Discussions centred on future network developments, the convergence of AI with digital innovation, and the growth of the digital economy within the region.
Malaysia’s Minister of Communications, YB Dato’ Seri Fahmi Fuju, stated that the next phase of Malaysia’s digital transformation must move beyond mere connectivity to focus on creating real added value through improved public services and a stronger business climate. He urged global technology partners to not only sell products to Malaysia but to actively participate in building the nation, emphasising the importance of local human resource development and national capability.
Similarly, Malaysia’s Digital Minister, YB Gobind Singh Deo, noted that strengthening Malaysia’s digital competitiveness requires converting artificial intelligence into tangible economic and social benefits. He highlighted that to become an “AI Nation” by 2030, Malaysia cannot rely solely on infrastructure development but must also focus on local talent, trusted governance, and supporting domestic innovators to compete globally.
Ouyang Yujing, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, remarked that while connectivity defines the digital era, innovation will determine its future direction. He expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with international partners to expand technological exchange, strengthen industrial synergy, and develop shared standards and governance.
Representing the organisers, Xie Junshi, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of ZTE, noted that connectivity and computing are increasingly integrated globally. He explained that ZTE has updated its strategy to “Connectivity plus Computing,” viewing AI as the brain, communication infrastructure as the nervous system, and terminal devices as the link to the real world.
Furthermore, Zhang Wanchun, Senior Vice President of ZTE, presented “A New Phase of Digital Infrastructure,” outlining a four-dimensional approach involving vision, volume, value, and venture. During the forum, ZTE demonstrated various innovations, including AI-enhanced connectivity and efficient token production, as part of a commercial roadmap spanning connectivity, computing infrastructure, and scenario-based terminal devices.
