ZTE and MyRepublic Partner to Deliver 5G FWA Services Outside Java
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chinese technology company ZTE has recently entered into a strategic partnership with internet service provider MyRepublic to deliver 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) internet services, branded MyRepublic Air, in Indonesia, particularly in areas outside Java. The partnership is expected to support inclusive connectivity and drive the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy.
“This partnership is expected to help create a more resilient and inclusive broadband ecosystem, driving sustainable digital growth, empowering communities, and supporting businesses across various regions,” said ZTE Indonesia President Director Richard Liang in a statement.
Meanwhile, MyRepublic Indonesia Chief Technology Officer Hendra Gunawan said the initiative is expected to provide reliable internet access that can reach communities that have thus far been underserved.
The internet service will utilise the 1.4 GHz frequency band, enabling efficient broadband delivery in areas with medium-to-low population density.
As a technology partner, ZTE will provide end-to-end network solutions encompassing Radio Access Network (RAN), Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), core network, wireless backhaul, and power systems.
The collaboration, named Project Ascend, will deliver high-speed wireless broadband services to various regions outside major urban centres, covering areas beyond Java including Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara.
