ZTE and MoraRepublic Sign MoU to Expand FWA and FTTH Services in Indonesia

ZTE Corporation, a global information and communication technology company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Ekamas Mora Republik Tbk (MoraRepublic) at MWC Shanghai 2026. The signing aims to explore cooperation in the development and expansion of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) services for residential and corporate customers throughout Indonesia. This collaboration responds to the rapid growth in demand for broadband connectivity, which has become a primary foundation driving Indonesia’s digital economy, whilst affirming both companies’ commitment to jointly strengthening the national digital infrastructure. MoraRepublic is a digital infrastructure and services company formed through the merger of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Tbk (Moratelindo) and PT Eka Mas Republik (MyRepublic). Serving millions of customers across Indonesia, MoraRepublic is expanding its broadband service reach to meet the public’s need for high-quality digital connectivity. As part of its long-term growth strategy, MoraRepublic focuses on expanding internet access in urban areas and rapidly developing regions throughout Indonesia to support broader digital inclusion. President Director of ZTE Indonesia, Liu Sen, welcomed the partnership with MoraRepublic in supporting national broadband expansion. He stated that ZTE brings experience from large-scale FWA and FTTH implementations in various international markets, supported by proven implementation methodologies that can be adapted to the technical, operational, and environmental conditions of each project. ‘By combining MoraRepublic’s infrastructure strength and local execution capabilities, we aim to enhance broadband access and service quality for both residential and corporate customers, whilst delivering a practical, scalable, and sustainable long-term implementation approach,’ said Liu Sen. The MoU signing at MWC Shanghai 2026 marks a milestone in the strategic partnership between ZTE and MoraRepublic. Both companies are committed to continuously expanding broadband connectivity reach, driving AI-based service innovation, and delivering energy-efficient network solutions in line with the acceleration of Indonesia’s national digital transformation. Through this collaboration, ZTE and MoraRepublic will jointly develop a broader and more efficient FWA network, drive the evolution of FTTH networks, and improve service quality through artificial intelligence (AI)-based network operations. Both companies will also explore end-to-end AI-based network architecture to support smarter broadband operations, service quality assurance, network optimisation, and broadband service development. Additionally, the partnership includes exploring commercial cooperation opportunities, joint innovation programmes, proof-of-concept (PoC) activities, and technical knowledge-sharing initiatives to support future broadband growth. As a company that has recently strengthened its business scale through the integration of Moratelindo and MyRepublic, MoraRepublic views this collaboration as a strategic step to accelerate its long-term broadband expansion goals in Indonesia. CFO of MoraRepublic, Yopie Widjaja, said the partnership between MoraRepublic and ZTE is more than just a technology implementation initiative.
