ZGC Forum 2026 to Highlight Integration of Technological Innovation and Industry

Beijing (ANTARA) - The Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) 2026 will adopt the theme “Full Integration Between Technological and Industrial Innovation,” as stated by an official from China’s Ministry of Science and Technology on Wednesday (18/3).

This year’s ZGC Forum will be held in Beijing from 25 to 29 March.

More than 1,000 guests from over 100 countries and regions are expected to participate in the forum, which will feature more than 100 activities, said Lin Xin, China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology, at a press conference.

According to Lin, the 2026 forum will have four distinctive features.

First, the forum will emphasise the expansion of Beijing’s efforts to become an international centre for scientific and technological innovation by hosting various forums and releasing related policies to deepen coordination between Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, all located in northern China.

In addition, Lin stated that the forum will also highlight the deep integration between technological innovation and industrial innovation, focusing on frontier fields such as 6G, brain-computer interfaces, and cell and gene therapy.

Integrated progress between education, science and technology, and talent development will also be a key feature of this year’s forum, Lin added.

Furthermore, the 2026 forum will emphasise openness and high-level scientific and technological cooperation.

This year’s forum is co-organised by several Chinese government agencies, including the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Founded in 2007, the forum held in Beijing has developed into a comprehensive, open, high-level international platform on a global scale to promote world scientific and technological innovation.
