Zero ODOL 2027: Jasamarga Technology Detects Overloaded Trucks
Bekasi — The government will enforce a Zero Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) policy, eliminating vehicles with excess dimensions and cargo, which will take effect in early 2027.
In relation to this, Jasamarga has already developed technology to monitor ODOL trucks through CCTV systems at the Tollroad Command Centre.
“This is not merely CCTV cameras that can see, but the AI is already operational. So it can be used for enforcement against ODOL trucks,” said Rivan Achmad Purwantono, President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, to Kompas.com on Monday (9 March 2026).
Rivan explained that the CCTV system is equipped with radar technology capable of monitoring trucks. When the video capture on the CCTV displays a red radar reading, it indicates the truck is overloaded.
The system can also identify the truck’s details, including its dimensions, cargo weight and registration plate number.
“The smart system we will develop is not just for monitoring, but also for detecting violations,” he said.
Rivan also stated that currently there are six toll road locations where cameras monitoring ODOL trucks are installed. Some of these are located in Bekasi, Bogor and East Java.
It is planned that two additional monitoring points will be added this year, bringing the total to eight.
The Zero ODOL policy is being actively promoted by various parties to enhance road safety and prevent infrastructure damage caused by excess cargo.
